BEFORE YOUR STAY

  • From Athens or Mykonos

    Andros can be accessed by ferry from Rafina (mainland Athens) or Mykonos. There are usually around four different ferries per day. You can find more information here to book online. To note: the ferries often have a very limited schedule between low and high season so please do consult the timetable before booking your flights – this will allow you to line up your transport as best as possible.

    Please take a look here to arrange a transfer between Athens/Mykonos Airport to the port – we recommend booking a private car in advance to avoid waiting in the long taxi queues!

    From Andros port

    We highly recommend you rent a car in advance during your stay (details below) but if you wish to use taxis instead, please let us know at your earliest convenience and we will put you in touch with our trusted taxi driver. Please note that not all taxis are able to reach Mèlisses and/or other spots on the island. It takes approximately 20 minutes from the port to Mèlisses – you will receive precise directions to the house a month before your arrival.

  • It’s essential to rent a 4x4 car as the roads on the island are often unpaved and steep, including Mèlisses' driveway. Please book your vehicle as early as possible as they are often extremely limited during July and August (the summer season). See our trusted rentals here on both Andros and Athens. 

    *Please note Mèlisses reception is open by appointment only, so it's essential that you inform us via email of your ferry arrival times (name of ferry and ETA) as soon as you can.

DURING YOUR STAY

  • Check-in is from 2:00 pm & check out by 11:00 am. Late check-out or early check-in is possible for an additional fee, pending availability. Please email us at info@melissesandros.com to enquire about your arrival and departure times.

  • We can absolutely hold onto your luggage before your check-in or after check-out. We need to know in advance if you will be staying at the house after check-out (if you have a later ferry) as this might incur an additional charge if you need your room.

  • We are here for you, most of the time. You can find us at the main house from 8:30am to 2:00pm every day. If you need to contact us after this time, feel free to reach us on WhatsApp +30 6940709024. For any extra services, please make sure to inform us by noon.

  • We have a designated space just outside of the main gate with plenty of parking.

  • While not in walking distance, the village Batsi is only a 10 minute drive away. There you can find tavernas, pharmacies and shops. AB is the closest supermarket (directions here) but there are many more places to food shop in Gavrio and Chora.

  • Yes! You just have to climb down, and back up, all 75 steps.

FOOD AND DRINK

  • A few weeks before your stay we ask for you to let us know of any dietary restrictions and allergies so we can accommodate you. Please email us as soon as you can.

  • Mélisses is a boutique guest house. Your stay with us includes breakfast (served from 9:00-10:00 am in the main house) and all other meals should be self-catered.

    But we do have drinks and refreshments too!

    We occasionally host one-off communal suppers and these are run as an extra activity. We will send an email prior to your arrival if a dinner will be occurring while you are here and to enquire as to if you and your party would like to attend. 

  • We will send your our curated and crafted guide to Andros which includes our top tips on where the locals eat, drink and play.

CANCELLATIONS, FAMILIES AND PETS, EXTRA

  • You will need to make a payment at the time of booking. Our availability is limited and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. All bookings are made through Airbnb and will include Airbnb fees in the total cost.

    You must cancel at least 30 days before check-in to receive a 50% refund for all nights.

  • Mèlisses is proud to be a family-friendly place to stay. We are happy to provide kids' cutlery, high chairs, toys and much more, and we offer dedicated activities and small everyday chores to keep the little ones busy and interested. We trust our mamas and papas out there to be as mindful of other guests as possible, but we understand that being a parent can sometimes be overwhelming. This is why we also have babysitters for you, so just ask!

  • Yes, we are pet-friendly, and happy to have furry friends over (one pet per group). But be aware, there is a male poodle on-site all season, plus 4-5 cats. Dogs are not permitted to sleep in beds or jump/play on them. It is your responsibility to clean up after them too. If extra cleaning will be required after check out, a charge of €50 will be added to your bill.

  • Normally, in order to respect our guests’ privacy, we do not allow any external guests to the property. However, please feel free to ask us well in advance as every case is specific and different!

  • Mélisses is only open to guests staying at the property so unfortunately we do not allow outside visitors. If you have any questions or queries, please reach out to us on email.
